Uses Erbium YAG Laser Instead of CO2:

CO2 lasers can penetrate deep into the skin, but they carry a relatively higher risk of thermal damage and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.

Erbium YAG lasers are characterized by precisely delivering energy from the epidermis to the dermal-epidermal junction, while minimizing thermal damage to the skin.

Customized Parameter Adjustment Based on Individual Skin Condition:

Instead of uniform machine settings, we meticulously analyze each individual's skin condition and characteristics to adjust the laser depth and intensity.

For areas with thin skin, we apply multiple overlapping passes with low power, while for thicker areas, we use a single high-power pass, performing the procedure with meticulous adjustments.

Utilization of Overlap Irradiation Method:

For specific concern areas such as fine lines, scars, or enlarged pores, we apply overlapping laser passes to precisely achieve the required treatment intensity.

The treatment can also be considered for managing fine lines in areas with thin skin and slower regeneration, such as the back of the hands or neck. We proceed with the treatment by adjusting settings in a customized manner, considering the specific characteristics of each area, such as skin regeneration speed or sebaceous gland density.

Expected Synergistic Effect with Combined Skin Booster Treatment:

Immediately after Fraxel treatment, micro-channels are formed in the skin, creating an optimal state for the absorption of active ingredients.

Utilizing this, we apply skin boosters to the skin immediately after Fraxel treatment, to help effectively deliver necessary ingredients down to the dermal layer.

By carefully adjusting the overlap irradiation intensity based on the depth of scars or differences in skin thickness across areas, we open pathways for active ingredients all the way to the dermal-epidermal junction.

When using small-particle skin boosters like PDRN or Juvelook in conjunction, this process allows active ingredients essential for skin regeneration to be absorbed deeply into the dermal layer. What is Fraxel?

Fraxel is a term derived from 'fractional', meaning 'partial'. Instead of uniformly stimulating the entire skin surface, this treatment uses a method of irradiating laser energy only on specific areas, leaving microscopic gaps.

It works by forming extremely tiny holes (micro-channels) in the skin to create intentional stimulation, and this stimulation activates the skin's natural regeneration process.

This method of inducing partial skin damage has the advantage that while expecting overall skin improvement, it can reduce the burden of recovery time.

Ablative vs. Non-Ablative Fraxel

Ablative Fraxel subtly removes the outermost layer (stratum corneum) of the skin surface and delivers laser energy down to the dermal-epidermal junction. Through this, improvement in skin texture, fine lines, and pigmentation issues can be expected, but a certain period of recovery is required.

In contrast, non-ablative Fraxel preserves the epidermal layer while delivering thermal energy to the dermis. It has the advantage of faster recovery, but the expected improvement effects may vary individually.

How Erbium YAG Fraxel Works

Erbium YAG Fraxel is a type of ablative laser that specifically uses a 2940nm wavelength, which effectively reacts with water in the skin.

This wavelength works by precisely vaporizing tissue from the epidermis to the dermal-epidermal junction, offering advantages such as precise control over treatment depth, minimal thermal damage to surrounding tissues, and relatively fast recovery.

Rather than directly burning surrounding tissues, it removes tissue by utilizing the water within the skin, which reduces the possibility of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation and allows for a comfortable treatment experience.

Comparison of DOE vs. MLA Methods

The energy delivery methods of Fraxel lasers are broadly categorized into DOE (Diffractive Optical Element) and MLA (Microlens Array) methods. The DOE method has the advantage of uniformly distributing laser energy to all points of the skin. However, its output can be relatively limited, so the experience and expertise of the medical staff are crucial for scar treatment.

The MLA method has the characteristic that laser energy is strongly concentrated in the center and weakens towards the periphery. This can be utilized for treating deep scars, but the concentration of energy in specific areas may lead to a longer recovery period.

Expected Effects of Erbium YAG Fraxel

When performing Erbium YAG Fraxel treatments, we primarily utilize the DOE method,

to uniformly deliver energy across the entire skin surface, helping you receive treatment comfortably.

In this manner, it can help improve pores, fine lines, and skin texture, and for acne scars, improvement can be expected by using the overlap technique in conjunction. Treatment results may vary individually.

Collagen & Elastin Regeneration: It induces microscopic damage to stimulate fibroblasts in the dermis, thereby promoting the production of collagen and elastin. The skin generally becomes stronger and smoother, and improved elasticity can be expected.

Pore Contraction Effect: It induces the reorganization of tissues around pores, leading to temporary pore contraction, and can give the skin surface an overall refined and neat appearance.
